I’ll start with my NY trip.Loved shooting that city out.
I hadn’t been there since childhood,
so it was a much different experience.
The amount of people that are around you
walking next to you,
on the subway,
at the park,
at Starbucks or whatever. . . it seems you can’t have a private moment in public.
But then there were times, especially at Central Park,
where I found my own space to lie down and relax on a summer’s day.
satisfaction, finding peace in a complex, crowded, and crazy city.
the crowd makes rooftops so necessary.
park and rooftops are the places in the city where you can really get away.
inside you have radio, TV, the indispensable internet, and god knows what else.
but in the park and up on the roof,
you either have yourself and your thoughts
or the company of others, just taking it in.
for those are the moments in life when people can truly be themselves.
no competition, no baggage, no self interest,
just friends enjoying each others presence for what it is.
I really treasure those times;
most of the time I get completely engrossed in self matters that I neglect reflection.
Its the simple times that bring me back, center and refocus me, remind me of who I am.
New York, for me, was a breath of fresh air from the hectic life I had in DC.
Not that I wasn’t happy in DC, it just can be a bit overwhelming sometimes,
and the trip to NY helped me stay focused at Heritage, just needed a little breather.
Well then.
I apologize for not updating as often as I should, DC is coming.
Here are the rest of my frames from the NYC.
They are all pretty much from one day, Jazz in the Park on Sunday, and also a Punk concert in the same park.
Thanks goes out to people who view/read this.
