Beercan Beach, and a warm San Francisco night

For the killas and the hundered dolla billas

for emo kids, who have too many feelings.

-Slug

just wanted to write that down, I guess.

Well, Here is part two of the film

that I had developed recently.

I thought that I had taken more shots

as we floated down the river.

But I guess I only took about five.

I guess I was more drunk than I remember.

So the day started out, 9 am picked up a 30 rack, and some whiskey,

headed to frosti’s and stated drinking at 10.

picked up the ever so crucial breakfast burrito,

which to 35 minutes to make? wtf.

we headed to this bikini bash party, which were all the photos from the previous post.

The had a band, then a dj, security, and a foam dance area.  we (the group of about15 of us) drank there until 1pm and then loaded up onto buses, almost got in a fight, and waited for days to get down to the river.

once there we blew up our rafts, tied all of them together with rope, and headed downstream.

The rest is hazy, but my photos tell the story somewhat.

Everyone floats down to this huge sand bar called Beercan beach, and then parties for the rest of the day there.  This is over the Labor Day weekend celebration, but any hot ass day in the summer will get tons of heads out there.

enjoy.

Bonobo was dope, except for he d.idn’t play the one song we wanted to hear.  Morgan talked his way on stage, which was crazy, but he talked some photog into giving up his camera so Morgan could take pictures of Amy on stage.  wow, it was just a perfect moment in the night.

Also got to hand with Andy, Jon Cerdon and Roxy, so overall it was a great weekend.

matt-and-j.jpg

We went to a love festival called “Power ro the Peaceful,” so SF, and full of hippies.

I met a ninja.  those shoes help him climb trees and make less noise.  julius has a good story about a wolf, ask him about it.

ninja.jpg

thats a katana in his hand.  I asked if it was a hatori hanso.  he wasn’t sure.

crazy-aht-man.jpg

sup-sucka.jpg

this was absolutely hilarious.  there was a line of about 30 hippies giving people high-5’s as they left the area.  Julius gave them all pounds.  pow sucka! love it.

then we went to a Dodgers game at PacBell Park in SF complements of Amy Calfas’ parents.  Thanks again.

Taking Liberties

It is the small things

that fall into my day that make me happy.

Rain in Baltimore.

Seventh Avenue.

9th and pine.

Its December now.

random thought. I wonder is the SEC in college sports will ever have a north division.

I got promoted. Who’s gonna be the photo editor at the Orion. . .

THIS GUY! (points both thumbs to chest, then realizes how douche that was, and takes a nap.)

anyway, that’ll be Tony the Tiger great, and I hear the writers strike is coming to an end, cuz that has to do with anything.

It was the best of times (no Jimmy Kimmel) and the worst of times (no Daily Show).

I want introduce an friend of mine from DC.

If ya ever wanted to learn about how the gov’t is controlling our minds with help from aliens and the Vatican, check out His Blog– his name is Peter Bis and he would be more than happy to explain everything to you.

Oh and for those in the DC area, simply go to the Heritage Foundation and out front everyday from sun up to sun down you will find Mr. Bis. hook him up with some spare change or some food, he’s a good man.

well, without further adieu, he is Peter Bis, former boyfriend of Diana Frances Spencer, and former Lawyer from Michigan, and my friend.

Days of Summer

Gonna drop one on ya.

just a little bit.

just ta see if you like it. . .

right Caroline?

a few tips first.  😉  pun intended.

wake up earlier, its rewarding.

listen to CRS, Justice, Air, Cinematic Orchestra, Portugal The Man, and Rogue Wave and Jose Gonzales.

drink less.

drink more. who was I kidding?

Watch Weeds, The Office, Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia, The L Word, and of course, Entourage.

Keep up on current events, balances you and keeps you from being a zombie to one aspect of your life.

Screw it, watch anything HBO has to offer. Especially in the next five years.

Go to Vegas at least once a year.

explore the outdoors around you,

investing in a DVR or TIVO is like diversifying your life portfolio.

ride a bike or walk if you can. LA is the exception.

Never give homeless people money.

Give them food,

gift certificates to someplace they can get food,

or give them your attention.

Not all problems can be solved with money.

but what do I know.

here are some frames ya little rascals.

Trekkin’ Humboldt

This is also waaaaaaay past due.

There is a theme here folks.

These are some deep cuts from early this year.

A backpacking trip

into the wilderness

of Humboldt County.

My group was dope,

our food was amazing

and we went a distance of something

around 19 mile in two days

with full packs.

I had a great time.

We walked through swampy marshes

where the water was up to my waist.

Saw some elk, went through a redwood rainforest that made wish I had some color slide film.  Seriously, every damn thing in that forest was green.  Loved every minute of it.

After the trip the four of us went to get some food at Round Table.  We had been sitting in the car for about a half hour when we pulled up to get some grub.

All of our muscles were so sore from being abused on the trail that it took us 5 minutes to get into the restaurant from the car.  A majority of that time for me was spent just getiing out of that car, my frickin legs felt like they were locked place.

There we are limping like old people going to Country Kitchen for the early bird specials, and we just all kind of looked at each other and laughed.  Because at that point, we were tired, hungry, and sleep deprived, so we just laughed.

So it was great, I’m glad I went.

Although waking up and being wet from the morning dew blew.

but I digress.

here are some personal favs,

enjoy.

yesterday is so today

I’ll start with my NY trip.Loved shooting that city out.

I hadn’t been there since childhood,

so it was a much different experience.

The amount of people that are around you

walking next to you,

on the subway,

at the park,

at Starbucks or whatever. . . it seems you can’t have a private moment in public.

But then there were times, especially at Central Park,

where I found my own space to lie down and relax on a summer’s day.

satisfaction, finding peace in a complex, crowded, and crazy city.

the crowd makes rooftops so necessary.

park and rooftops are the places in the city where you can really get away.

inside you have radio, TV, the indispensable internet, and god knows what else.

but in the park and up on the roof,

you either have yourself and your thoughts

or the company of others, just taking it in.

for those are the moments in life when people can truly be themselves.

no competition, no baggage, no self interest,

just friends enjoying each others presence for what it is.

I really treasure those times;

most of the time I get completely engrossed in self matters that I neglect reflection.

Its the simple times that bring me back, center and refocus me, remind me of who I am.

New York, for me, was a breath of fresh air from the hectic life I had in DC.

Not that I wasn’t happy in DC, it just can be a bit overwhelming sometimes,

and the trip to NY helped me stay focused at Heritage, just needed a little breather.

Well then.

I apologize for not updating as often as I should, DC is coming.

Here are the rest of my frames from the NYC.

They are all pretty much from one day, Jazz in the Park on Sunday, and also a Punk concert in the same park.
